Sky Mountain Wedding

Haley and Chris chose their favorite getaway destination, Asheville, as the location for their intimate mountain wedding.  They wanted to have a small gathering of friends and family for their celebration, so they opted for a small, mid-day ceremony and then headed to a brewery together.  It is our honor to get to share some of the engagement and wedding day photos from a perfect mountaintop ceremony and a few New Belgium brewery photos before they headed in for their wedding-day tour.

I always adore when we are able do an engagement photo session with my couples so they get to experience being photographed together and gives me a chance to get to know them a bit more before the wedding.  Thrilled that this adorable pair opted to go play as their engagement session on a rainy day in the River Arts District.  After that session, I knew this couple's Sky Mountain wedding would be a blast and it did not disappoint!

Their day could not have been more spectacular.  Sky Mountain has one of the most beautiful views of the downtown Asheville area.  This private residence hosts small gatherings - and the owners are the nicest people, having worked hard to create this picturesque event space.  It is always magical up there - and everyone feels lucky to get to visit.

There was so much love on that mountaintop that day!  After a casual lunch with the most spectacular view, we captured a few portraits then headed to New Belgium for a few more photos before we parted.  It is so wonderful to see a bride and groom embrace how they want to enjoy the day and it was my pleasure to get to help make their vision happen.

Wishing the best for this wonderful couple!

Julia and Richard's Homewood Wedding

There is a magical castle wedding venue in Asheville, North Carolina named Homewood.  For Julie and Richard, an adorably sweet and fun couple, it was the perfect ceremony location for their destination Asheville wedding.  The groom was a college roommate remains a dear friend of one of the founders of Catawba Brewery, so the reception had to be at their new South Slope Brewery.  Julie loved the idea for the reception, but wanted a romantic ceremony location that she found at Homewood.  The elegant ceremony venue was a great contrast to the edgy and industrial brewery for the reception.  The ceremony was perfect, everyone was so excited for the big day to be here.  After they were official, the party headed to Catawba Brewery for the reception.  They celebrated, danced, laughed, and enjoyed being with their favorite people.  Lots of Catawba beer was enjoyed and they feasted on BBQ from Buxton Hall. In lieu of a traditional cake, the couple opted for a Vortex doughnut array of deliciousness.

Green Mountain Farm Wedding

I am still swooning over this wedding at Green Mountain Farm.  This farm is truly one of the prettiest properties with gorgeous views, a cave, waterfall and pond, a lovely cabin and an old farmhouse (they rent via Air B&B if you want to see it for yourself!!).  When I connected with Lindsay and Dominic and heard all about her family’s *beautiful* farm that they were using for the wedding, I was ecstatic that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. Every detail was perfect – I just could not have had more greatness to capture.

Asheville Destination Wedding

It is truly a pleasure to share some of our favorite photos from one of the sweetest weddings earlier this year.  The couple's fun, laid back approach made sure that their day was a great time for all of their guests.  The first time I met Allyson and Tyler, it was a bitter cold winter day in the mountains of Kingsport, Tennessee.  Their warm friendly nature and amazing sense of humor made them feel like old friends and I was so happy they chose me to be their photographer.  The two had been long distance most of their relationship and shared plans of moving from their east coast homes to a new life out west just after the big day.  They added moving cross country to their wedding to-do list and took it all in stride, knowing they could finally not have such distance in between them.

We started the day at the welcoming and beautiful Pinecrest B&B, with the wedding party hosted getting ready.  Allyson's parents have the most lovely B&B with gorgeous gardens and classic design elements everywhere you turn inside and out.  Their first look was just the sweetest.  The couple chose to see each other before the wedding, letting us capture wedding party and family portraits before the ceremony.  Allyson's family has been a big part of UCC, and with it being such a gorgeous space, it was such an honor to capture her and Tyler marrying there.  After the ceremony, the wedding party walked through Pack Square with a little diversion to a graffiti covered alleyway and then off to the reception.  The Century Room at Pack's Tavern never disappoints with amazing food, great service and a fun venue to celebrate the newlyweds.  Sound Extreme kept the dance floor moving and everyone had a wonderful evening!

Wishing the newlyweds the best of everything!  Loved being their photographer and am ecstatic to share some of our favorite photos from their day.
